In 1930, my Great Grandfather opened a photographic shop in Puerto Rico, called The Thirty Nine Photo Shop. The name originated from the cost of processing a roll of film - which was $0.39. The shop developed film, printed photos, and sold cameras and materials for printing.
The last shop closed in the late 1950s, and some 70+ years later, I am bringing it back to life. The branding has been recreated to match the original logo, found on an envelope from the original shop.
My hope is to continue the legacy of processing film, while also finding ways to create an authentic community around film. I appreciate the support, and look forward to developing (pun intended) this community together.

Please read our FAQ to learn about our shipping options and how our process works so that your order will be processed quickly and efficiently.

If you are mailing in film, but do not want your negatives returned, select the “I do not want my negatives returned” option at step #2 in the check out process.
If you are mailing in film and DO want your negatives returned, please select “Film and Standard Shipping” at step #2 in the check out process.
If you are doing local pick up/drop off, change your shipping option in the check out process at step #2 - Delivery Methods. Please select an option to arrange a meet up, or drop off your film at one of our drop box locations. Please note that if you drop off your film at a drop box, you will still need to either coordinate picking up your negatives after your order is fulfilled, or pay shipping to have them shipped to you. Thank you for being patient as we explore ways to make this service more accessible and convenient.
If using Apple Pay, please be sure to select the appropriate shipping before processing.

You can mail the film however you’d like, and we would recommend putting them in a ziplock bag inside whatever shipping option you choose, just for extra protection.
The shipping address is:
Thirty Nine Photo Shop, 8920 Lawyers Rd, P.O. Box #690634, Mint Hill, NC, 28227
Please be sure to place a service order BEFORE you ship, and label your film canisters, or drop a note in the bag/box with your name so that the film can be properly identified and connected to your order. Also please make sure your shipping option is correct, especially with Apple Pay.

Your digital files will be delivered through a beautiful online gallery. Included in your gallery is the ability to download the high-resolution digital files, order prints, and download an app for easy access to your photos. This gallery will serve as a hub for every roll that we process for you.
We do not offer low-res or “standard” scans. Our scans are always high-resolution, and we don’t up-charge for it (cause everyone deserves hi-res). The gallery also provides a more permanent access option vs something like WeTransfer, where your photos get deleted after a certain amount of time.
We hope to ensure the highest quality, and want you to feel like we deeply care about your photos, because we do!

Yes! Just place a service order for 35mm film and send us the whole camera. We will take care of the rest.
